The development of AI will be able to reduce the number of people engaged in low-skilled labor (cashiers, drivers, security guards, etc.). This will allow more people to engage in creativity, entrepreneurship, science, subject to the availability of education and re-profiling of people.
In the current “covid” reality, the development of AI will reduce the number of offline contacts between people, doctors and patients in particular, since we work online. Also, AI can be a good assistant for doctors, as it can suggest / highlight those moments that the doctor could have missed.
If we talk about what may be lacking for the development of projects in the direction of AI, then we can highlight several main points:
- Lack of a venture capital market, as a result, great difficulties in finding the right investor, and for an investor, accordingly, to sell a startup to a large player in the market in 2-3 years. I will not talk about grants, since the complexity of the application / selection and reporting on them practically outweighs their value – instead of developing the project, the founders are engaged in reporting.
- Complexity of development implementation. For example, for medicine – even such a simple monitoring as we do with a mobile phone – is “non-invasive” (that is, methods of research or treatment, during which the patient does not have any impact), it will take several years and several million rubles to get the simplest medical certification (in the absence of funding). For startups with AI, for example, from retail, logistics to interact with big business, it will take from 6 to 18 months to implement a pilot. And a few more years before reaching the entire network, again in the absence of investor support.
- General points. In our country, 90-95% of people do not know what financial literacy is. And without this it is very difficult to do business. This is not taught in schools and institutes (I mean technical ones, since usually startups with AI are made by people with physics and mathematics education). Therefore, 90% of people do not have a free million rubles to start a project, which will be enough for six months of development until the first MVP, which may allow finding customers for the solution or investors.
It is rather difficult to predict the future of AI in a 5-year perspective, but it is already obvious that in the near future autopilots will replace drivers, voice assistants – secretaries, self-service cashiers – cashiers, etc.
AI can occupy almost all household life: cleaning, washing things, preparing food, ordering food (if it detects voids in the refrigerator and cupboards), etc. Unmanned vehicles and automatic delivery of goods. What is left for a person to do? The only way not to be left on the sidelines of progress is to continue your own development. In our time, education should be continuous, it is no longer enough just to graduate from the university. To be relevant today, you need to run 2 times faster.
